District 22 is made up primarily of educators who worked or live in the former Cities of Etobicoke and York. With the amalgamated City of Toronto, we will continue to attract and serve retiring members from the western sections of the city.

The district has been growing steadily and today we face a new challenge to our growth. In April 1974 the Provincial records show that District 22 had a membership of 686 members. Today we have about 2000 members. Making contact with newly retired teachers is becoming increasingly difficult due to the challenges of the Freedom Of Information Act which restricts the distribution of data to our organization. Add to this the fact that Etobicoke and York are no longer identifiable entities within the Megacity and it is clear that we have a major task ahead of us to maintain our membership. If you are a new retiree from this area please contact one of our executive members to obtain more information about our group.
