Monique Mili

I was born in Toronto where I completed a BA at York U. and a teaching certificate at Toronto Teachers' College. While teaching, I also completed a BEd. at York.
My teaching career spanned 30 years including 7 years as a Core French followed by 7 years French Immersion teacher. The second half of my career followed a more administrative track where I devoted 9 years to working in, and eventually coordinating, the Staff Development department of the former Etobicoke Bd. of Ed. Before retiring, I had the privilege of working as a school Principal in two elementary schools in Etobicoke.

After retiring from teaching, I worked as an independent staff development consultant where I gave a variety of workshops, including Classroom Management sessions. I also sat on the Staff Development Council of Ontario Board for a number of years. I also worked as a consultant for TFO which, at the time, was the French language side of TVOntario.

Since leaving TFO, I have focused on family and friends. When I am not attending to the affairs of my elderly mother, I can be found tending to my home and garden or reading mystery novels and spy thrillers!

My husband and I indulge our love of food as we engage in cooking and wine tasting hobbies. We also have a great passion for travel which has taken us from road trips as far west as Torino, B.C. to the outer reaches of East Africa on safaris to the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti Plain in Tanzania.

I am looking forward to my work on the RTO District 22 Executive as a new venture where I can be of service to others while having an opportunity to connect with valued colleagues.
